Ecuador: UNASUR Praises Venezuelan Electoral Process

The UNASUR electoral mission described the Venezuelan elections as “clean and fair.” The head of the mission, former Dominican President Leonel Fernandez said that the observers will present a final report containing some suggestions for improvements. He congratulated all involved in the process, including the members of the MUD coalition, the National Electoral Council and its President Tibisay Lucena, and President Nicolas Maduro. UNASUR Secretary General Ernesto Samper called the elections “transparent” and “almost impeccable.”
