Song: Krewella - Come and Get It
Why it's similar:
Angel Beats -
Both have a kuudere-style loli who isn't normal. Both have a male lead who is a newbie and a nice guy. Both have a certain organization the main characters are apart of. Both have certain supernatural/sci-fi elements. Both have a sort of way to "not exist" that isn't really dying (Plastic Memories has "retrievals" and Angel Beats has "disappearing.") Both will make you cry for weeks.
Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso -
If you strip Plastic Memories of its sci-fi setting, it basically tells a lighter, shorter version of Your Lie in April's story. How a very delicate relationship affects hopes and dreams, and the path you end up choosing for your life. Huge feels for both, and themes explored are similar. Both shows have many feels and are both a good watch.
Isshuukan Friends -
Memories are important, but sometimes they can disappear without a clue. Plastic Memories and Isshuukan Friends both treat memory loss as a common occurrence, and try to teach the importance of overdosing on memories within a short period of time to create happiness. Both shows also attempt to force feels down your throat.
Kowarekake no Orgel -
Angel and Isla are very similar. Both involve a futuristic setting where androids are a common commodity. One involves androids with an expiration date whereas the other involves an outdated android. Again, they have feels - lots of feels.
Chobits -
'Plastic Memories' and 'Chobits' delivers an emotional level of bonding between humans and androids that are designed to feel almost human. In the midst of it all, the lovely musics certainly did not damper the standard of the show. Touching moments are undeniably hard to ward off as it shows us what it means to have something so precious and alive being taken away from you whether by willingness or brute force. The character emotion and comedy scenes blend well with the overall dynamic of the world and you can't helped but to laugh and cry with the characters when an opportunity arises.
