When doing borderwork square is very important because you want all your cuts in the field to be straight so everything goes smoothly.It is also important that your last filler piece be about the same size all the way across (you don't want it to go big to small it becomes an eyesore.Do the math so if you have to start with a half board to leave yourself a good filler piece at the end you should.(you dont want to end at a sliver piece).Remember,I was very unhappy with the Bellawood from LumberLiquidators and they wouldn't refund me any money for the unused wood or the garbage wood that they sold me claiming it was quality.I've installed Hardwood floors for a living now for seven years and thier product has been the worst product I ever touched.Bruce might not be the best hardwood floor but they stand behind thier product unlike Bellawood at Lumber Liquidators
