In his speech at the COP 21 Summit, Bolivia’s President Evo Morales criticized the way capitalism and consumerism have made an impact on world attitudes toward the climate and natural resources. Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff referred to the toxic mudslide in the Rio Doce watershed in the state of Minas Gerais as the biggest environmental disaster in the country’s history.
