Maduro Denies Political Motive in Death of Opposition Politician

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro dismissed claims that yesterday's killing of a local leader of the opposition Democratic Action was politically motivated. While the opposition rushed to blame members of the governing United Socialist Party of Venezuela for the murder of Luis Manuel Diaz, Maduro said his death was a contract killing involving the settling of scores between criminal gangs.
