Prej ditës se sotme qytetaret e Elbasanit, Librazhdit, Pogradecit, Korçës dhe qyteteve te tjera do te vijnë me shpejt ne Tirane fale autostradës se re Tirane-Elbasan. Kjo autostrade shmang rrugën e vjetër te Qafe Krrabes duke shkurtuar distancën mes dy qyteteve me te paktën 40 minuta. Ne ceremoninë e inaugurimit kryeministri Sali Berisha e ka cilësuar këtë si ditën e Krenarisë Kombëtare. Hapja e autostradës një jave para ditës se zgjedhjeve i ka shërbyer kryeministrit Sali Berisha per te treguar se alternative e djathte është alternative e nje Shqipërie te zhvilluar ndryshe nga rivali i tij politik. Autostrada Tirane-Elbasan ka një gjatësi 27 km, me një tunel 2.5 km dhe shërben për te lidhur me Tiranën jo vetëm juglindjen e vendit por është edhe pjesa e pare e boshtit te jugut.
