It comes as research shows two thirds (66%) of British adults will receive at least one gift they don’t want or like this Christmas – resulting in a total of £2.3 billion worth of wasted presents.
The research also revealed a list of the best - and worst - gifts for 2015. Whilst novelty jumpers and toilet seat covers were voted as the biggest gifting blunders, cash and gift vouchers came top followed by food, chocolate or wine, and technology.
Daniel Zelkind, CEO of Zeek, a marketplace for gift vouchers, said: “Our research shows that consumers increasingly want the freedom to choose their own gifts at Christmas. Whilst cold, hard cash and gift vouchers traditionally were seen as unthoughtful gifts, today it is what the nation wants.
