Durrësi është përzgjedhur nga demokratet si qyteti i dyte për te prezantuar kandidatet qe do jene përballe socialisteve ne 23 Qershor në këtë qark. Kryeministri Berisha i është drejtuar qytetareve durrsakë me nje premtim te ri, atë të heqjes se vizave me SHBA-te, nëse ata dhe shqiptaret e tjerë, do t'u japin demokrateve një mandat tjetër qeverisës. Berisha akuzoi koalicionin e majte se nuk ka dhënë asnjë kontribut për procesin e integrimit te vendit. Berisha u zotua se ne 4-vjeçarin e ardhshëm do te rritet numri i të punësuarve në qarkun e Durrësit. Me herët kryeministri ka inauguruar edhe portin kombëtar te peshkimit ne qytetin bregdetar.
