Dialogu mes Prishtinës dhe Beogradit për veriun është i pashmangshëm. Kjo pjesë e Kosovës pritet të marrë një status të veçantë, që nuk do ta prishë funksionalitetin e shtetit. Burime ndërkombëtare pohojnë se në Bruksel po punohet për një takim te nivelit te larte, Jahjaga--Nikolic, qe mund te realizohet ne tetor, përmes te cilit do te rifillonin negociatat mes palëve. Siç raporton "Gazeta Ekspres" ne Prishtinë, duke cituar burime brenda BE-se, shefja e Politikës së Jashtme ne union, Catherine Ashton, po përgatitet për t`i takuar presidentët e Kosovës dhe Serbisë. Sikurse Nikolic, edhe Jahjaga është shprehur e gatshme të takohet dhe të flasë për problemet që përballen dy shtetet. "Ashton dëshiron t`i takojë liderët e dy vendeve në një shtet evropian. Takimi Jahjaga-Nikolic nuk do të ndodh në New York në mbledhjen e Asamblesë së Përgjithshme të OKB", ka thënë diplomati i BE-së në kushte anonimiteti. Ditët e fundit mediat ne Beograd kishin paralajmëruar qe Nikolic do te drejtonte vete ekipit negociator serb për ti dhënë me shume peshe bisedimeve.
