The Paris terror attacks, along with speculation that one of the terrorists may have posed as a Syrian asylum seeker, have rekindled debate on Europe's migration policy.
By the end of the year, the Sicilian port of Pozzalo will become a "hotspot", a new registration centre where European civil servants will assist the Italian authorities. The objective is to determine the origin and identity of every migrant. Our correspondent in Italy reports.
