Syria: Media Professionals Rally Against Terrorism

A conference of Middle East media workers against terrorism began on Monday in Damascus. Media professionals from Syria, Lebanon, Iran, and other countries discussed the need for measures to prevent the press from becoming a tool in the hands of terrorists. Such measures would include not publishing or broadcasting materials that can be used by terrorist groups. Organizers of the event hope an International Media Council Against Terrorism will emerge from the conference. Hazem Abdullah reports from Damascus. teleSUR
