Footage has emerged from China of the aftermath of a delivery truck catching fire on a highway the morning after the Singles Day sales, damaging more than 4,000 parcels worth over a million yuan (about £100,000).
In the video, filmed in Jiangxi Province on Thursday, piles of packages can be seen burnt to ash.
According to news reports, China's Singles Day was firstly promoted by e-commerce giant Alibaba as a special shopping day in 2009. Since then, it has been held every year on November 11. This year the online shopping company broke its own records with sales of £9.4 billion by the close of trade.
