Snapchat's 'official stories' uses emoji to verify celebrity accounts

Snapchat may finally be giving its celebrity users a more official presence on the platform. The company is using a new feature called "Official Stories" to verify the accounts of some of its celebrity users, including Justin Bieber, Tiesto and Kylie Jenner. But, in true Snapchat fashion, the app is be using emoji symbolize their status. Users began spotting the symbols Friday, when they appeared in searches under the header "Official Stories." The emoji also appear to the right of stories of users you are already following. So far, the "official" moniker has been given to a few celebrities. It's not clear how many other users have the feature.
