TeleSUR Reports – 2. Speculation and the Right to Live in the City

This documentary is the second chapter of the new report “Resisting the Capitalist City.” Shot in Sao Paulo, Brazil, it deals with a housing crisis fostered by speculators in the real estate market that forces people to live in precarious conditions if they don’t have the money to buy a place to live. The new urban planning model in which the State and capital work closely together not only generates indebtedness but has also fostered grassroot struggles for the right to housing and against the privatization of public space. teleSUR
