FULL-TIME: NEW ZEALAND 34-17 AUSTRALIA

New Zealand secured a second straight World Cup with a thrilling win over Australia at Twickenham.

They raced into a 16-3 half-time lead but had to stave off a second-half fight-back from the Wallabies as the score narrowed to 21-17.

But a Dan Carter drop goal and a penalty shortly afterwards kept the Australians seven points behind, before Beauden Barrett's late breakaway score added a gloss to the scoreline and sealed a historic double for Richie McCaw and his men.
