1990 S.A.W.-Viper (Cobra Heavy Machine Gunner) G.I. Joe review

***BEWARE: HALLOWEEN Special!*** This is a review of the Cobra Heavy Machine Gunner, SAW-Viper. The acronym "SAW" is explained in the file card as Semi-Automatic Weapons... which makes no sense. It should read Squad Automatic Weapons, a reference to portable machine guns used in support of a mobile ground unit. In the comic, the SAW-Viper is treated as an individual (at first) and is responsible for the deaths of 4 GI Joes (and later blamed for the deaths of 3 more). The machine gun accessory has the distinction of being the longest gun (released with a figure) in the vintage (1982-1994) series.
