RUSSIAN scientists are up to some monkey business – after it emerged they are training a team of primates to send to Mars.
Boffins at the Institute of Biomedical Problems in Moscow, are preparing the four rhesus macaques to make the flight in two years.
The animals are being trained for three hours a day so they can travel safely into space, and eventually land on the Red Planet.
The group of macaques were chosen for their cognitive abilities and quick-learning skills.
