Footage has emerged which shows Chinese people waiting outside Buckingham Palace at dawn in the hope of catching a glance of President Xi Jinping, who starts his first state visit to Britain today.
According to the filmer, excited crowds arrived at the Palace as early 6am, although the President and his wife will not appear until midday to take part in a procession down The Mall before lunching with the Queen.
