Protestors block highway in Faridabad

Dalit families on Wednesday (October 21) blocked the Ballabhgarh-Faridabad highway, to protest against the death of two Dalit children who, along with their parents, were burnt alive yesterday in a suspected cast-clash violence. Meanwhile, politicians made beeline to Faridabad, with CPI (M) leader Bindra Karat and Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi meeting the victims' kin today. In a shocking incident, two kids died and their parents suffered serious burns as a group of men from another caste allegedly set ablaze a dalit family of four after pouring petrol on them. The incident took place at their home at Sumped village in Faridabad on Tuesday morning. Concerned over the killing of two children in the suspected inter-caste clash, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has asked Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Khattar to ensure security to everyone and prevent any recurrence of such incident.
