Diyar-e-Dil (Urdu: دیار دل‎ ; lit. The Valley of Heart)[2] (also known as Dayar-e-Dil or stylized as DeD) is a 2015 Pakistani romantic drama serial, that premiered on Hum TV on March 17, 2015.[3] It is based on the novel of same name by Farhat Ishtiaq. The series is directed by Haseeb Hassan and produced by Momina Duraid.[4]

Osman Khalid Butt and Maya Ali stars as a grandchildren's of Abid Ali who, with his grandchildren's tries to reunite the family that fall apart long-ago with his egoistic decisions. With the first few episodes narrated by Osman, it concludes a moral lessons regarding respect, love and care in relationships. The series features an ensemble cast with Osman as Wali, Maya as Faarah,[5] Sanam Saeed, Hareem Farooq,[6] Mikaal Zulfiqar, Ali Rehman Khan as their parents, and Abid Ali in titular character of Bakhtiyar Khan as their Agha Jaan.[7] Series took a Twenty year leap on its seventh episode on May 5, 2015.

The series airs on Hum TV as part of a night of programming all under Duraid's MD production company. The show is set in Skardo, Gilgit–Baltistan and depicts the culture of society. Diyar-e-Dil premiered in Pakistan, UK, USA and UAE on March 17, 2015, with prime slot on Tuesdays.[8]

Premise
Diyar-e-Dil depicts the story of Bakhtiyar Khan / Agha Jan (Abid Ali) family, who fall apart long ago due to the rebelliousness of Agha Jaan's son Behroze Khan (Meekal Zulfiqar) when he refuse to marry his cousin Arjumand Bedar Khan (Hareem Farooq) to marry Ruhina Tajamul (Sanam Saeed). Behorze left the house to marry Ruhina without the consent of Agha Jaan. After the leap of twenty-year, Behorze reunites with family when Agha Jaan's youngest son Suhaib Khan (Ali Rehman Khan) who married Arjumand, dies. Their children Faarah Behroze Khan (Maya Ali) and Wali Suhaib Khan (Osman Khalid Butt), marries fulfilling Suhaib last wish to reunite the family. However, Ruhina oppose this decision and leaves Behroze as a result he dies because of her umbrage.

With her fathers death Faraah also refuse to accept her relation with Wali and demands divorce, which further increase tension in the family and became the cause of Agha Jaan illness. Wali and Faraah makes an agreement which favors Faraah only if she agree to live with Agha Jaan for three months. Series then shows the affection of Faraah towards Agha Jaan specially Wali and clears her misunderstanding. Other recurring roles include Behroze Sabzwari as Tajamul Arsalan, Tara Mahmood as Zuhra Tajamul, Ruhina's brother and sister in law and their son Ahmad Zeb as Moeez Arsalan who manipulates Farah and Ruhina against Agha Jaan for Faraah's inheritance.

Production
Concept and development

Osman Khalid Butt plays the lead role as Wali Suhaib Khan.
Diyar-e-Dil was developed by Hum TV's senior producer Momina Duraid of MD Productions, the channel hired the award-winning director Haseeb Hassan to direct the series.[9] Story of serial is based on award-wining writer Farhat Ishtiaq's novel of the same name Dayar-e-Dil with few variations.[10] Screenplay is also written by Ishtiaq while script composing is done by Muhammad Wasi-ul-Din.[11] Farhat has previously worked twice with Momina, when she wrote mega-hit drama serial in Pakistan television history Humsafar[12] and Mata-e-Jaan Hai Tu.[13] Song composition is done by Shani Haider while background music is given by Bilal Allah Ditta, who chose Zeb Bangash and Momin Durrani[14] for singing. The show approximately airs weekly episode for 35–40 minutes. There were several discussions laid on its time slot, previously it was announced that the show will air during Fridays replacing Sadqay Tumhare,[15] but it premiered on Tuesday with time slot of 8:00 pm on 17 March 2015,[9] despite its originally selected date.

Writing
The drama serial screenplay is also written by Ishtiaq. She explained that she Momina Duraid gave her a full freedom of writing, while writing she discuss the story-line with Duraid and with mutual ideas and aspects Farhat wrote the scripts
