New 4K Views Of Jupiter Show Shrinking Great Red Spot

NASA recently released new images that show color and shape changes in Jupiter's Great Red Spot along with the reappearance of a rare wave formation that hasn’t been seen in decades.

NASA has new maps of Jupiter thanks to the first set of annual portraits taken to document the solar system’s outer planets.
Scientists have been able to identify changes in the large body which is one of the main goals of the Outer Planet Atmospheres Legacy program, or OPAL for short.

A primary area of focus has been Jupiter’s Great Red Spot which appears to be continuing its trend of becoming rounder and smaller.

The storm’s longer axis has been reduced by about 150 miles in distance compared to last year.

The color is also shifting, with less red and more orange
