Ian McEwan: The law versus religion
The critically acclaimed and popular novelist Ian McEwan has been speaking to FRANCE 24 about religion, writing scandalous fiction and how film adaptations have increased his readership. The English writer is perhaps best known for "Atonement", the 2001 family saga made into a movie starring Keira Knightly. His thirteenth novel "The Children Act" focuses on a high court judge whose world is disrupted by a life-or-death decision. He talks to arts and entertainment editor Eve Jackson.
