"In this series of ‘Bollywood #Tweetiyapa’ Aritro researches and reviews social media sentiments of Bollywood celebrities over recent trending feeds. Aritro, the Bollywood geek has a peculiar take on latest issues, scandals and controversies in the entertainment industry that makes virtual noise!
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan, was convicted of culpable homicide, in the infamous 2002 hit-and-run case with 5 years rigorous imprisonment after 13 years of trial. Soon after the conviction, the Bollywood fraternity rushed in defence of Salman Khan.
In one such emotional display of dismay, singer Abhijeet Bhattacharya came under fire from all quarters for his insensitive tweet, suggesting that it was the homeless who died, is somehow to be blamed for sleeping on the pavement and compared the victim with dog! The first virtual slap on his rant came from none other than actress Sonakshi Sinha who herself was tagged in it. She distanced herself from such negative remarks despite openly expressing her support for Salman. Other people reacting strongly against Abhijeet’s tweet were Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Chandra.
Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Pulkit Samrat were some among many celebs, who turned to social media to express their shock at Salman’s conviction. Salman surprisingly responded to all the hullabaloo, concern and support in an utter cold tweet expressing thanks!
