CGMA, pinayagang makapag-parehistro sa 2016 polls
Pinayagan ngayon ng Sandiganbayan ang dating pangulo at kasalukuyang Pampanga Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo na makapag-parehistro para sa 2016 national elections.
Sa inilabas na resolusyon, inatasan ng anti-graft court’s First Division ang Commission on Elections (Comelec) na magpadala ng kinatawan sa Veterans Memorial Medical Center sa Quezon City para doon gawin ang pagpapatala.
“Finding merit in accused Gloria Macapagal Arroyo’s Motion to Allow Voter Registration and Biometric Registration, dated June 7, 2014, the said motion is hereby granted,”ayon sa 1-page minute resolution ng korte.
Kaugnay nito, inatasan din ng korte ang poll body na magsumite ng report sa loob ng limang araw matapos gawin ang proseso.
“(Lubao, Pampanga) Election officer (Leonilo) Miguel is hereby directed to inform the court in writing of his or his duly authorized representative’s compliance with this Resolution within five days from the completion of the said voter list react ovation and biometrics validation of the said accused.”
Ang dating pangulo ay kasalukuyang naka-hospital arrest dahil sa kinakaharap na kasong plunder kaugnay sa sinasabing maanomalyang paggastos ng P366M fund ng Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office.
