The Fourth Caracas International Theater Festival opened with “Paganini” and went on to present new and sometimes humorous versions of “Othello” and “Smaller than the Guggenheim.” Host country Venezuela presented most of the plays in the Festival. Formerly, important theater companies brought dramas from Europe or other countries, but now people are also interested in plays about life in their own country. The Festival alternated between theater for children and theater for adults. Over 10,000 children took part in more than 800 cultural activities --- performances, dance, music and puppet shows.teleSUR
