BN rep ejected for a day

An opposition member was suspended from today's sitting of the Selangor legislative assembly, as the alleged sand-mining scandal continued to haunt the state government led by Pakatan Rakyat. Speaker Teng Chang Khim (right) ejected and suspended Abdul Shukor Idrus (BN-Kuang) for defying his directive.

Abdul Shukor was seeking clarification on why his motion to discuss the sand mining scandal had been rejected.

Teng refused to entertain his request, stating that Abdul Shukor had failed to cite the appropriate Standing Order to allow him to raise an unscheduled issue.
