Interpol has sought answers from the Enforcement Directorate on why the agency needs a red corner notice to be issued against former IPL chief Lalit Modi. According to reports, Interpol has also asked ED about evidences against Lalit Modi and other accused in the case. Earlier in August, Enforcement Directorate had officially moved for a red corner notice against Modi in connection with money laundering case being probed by the agency. A red notice is issued "to seek the location and arrest of wanted persons with a view to extradition or similar lawful action" in a criminal case probe. Once the Red notice is sounded, the Interpol seeks to arrest the person concerned in any part of the world and notifies that country to take his or her custody for further action at their end.
