Protests Sweep Guatemala Demanding President's Resignation

Huge protests were held in Guatemala yesterday to demand the resignation of President Otto Perez Molina, embroiled in a major corruption scandal. A 30,000-strong march in the capital was accompanied by a labor work stoppage and the decision by many private businesses to close for the day. Perez refuses to resign and is going ahead with plans for the September 6 elections, which protesters demand be postponed. Gerardo Torres reports from Central America. teleSUR
