UK: at least 7 dead after plane crashes into road in Brighton

Seven people have died after a plane crash at Shoreham Air Show in Brighton, south east England.

The plane, a 1950s Hawker Hunter fighter jet, came down as it was performing a loop. Media reports suggest the aircraft stalled mid-manoeuvre.
Plumes of thick, black smoke could be seen billowing across the sky it crashed over the busy A27 road, to the north of Shoreham airport, hitting several cars before coming to a stop in a nearby bush.
The South East Coast Ambulance Service said seven people had died.
Unconfirmed reports suggest the pilot managed to escape before the collision, although this can not be seen on the images.
Some 20,000 people attended this year’s event, organised by the Royal Air Forces Association.
