Vietnam's first gay sitcom a hit

A Vietnamese sitcom not only has become the country's first TV show dedicated to the LGBT community -- it's also something of a runaway hit.

The sitcom is called "My Best Gay Friend." Its popularity reflects growing support across Vietnam for LGBT rights. It also comes at a time when the government is considering whether to legalize same-sex marriage -- as early as May.

If that happens, Vietnam would be the first nation in Asia to let gay couples marry.

Lien Hoang talked to the creators of the sitcom in Ho Chi Minh City, where "My Best Gay Friend" is filmed.
