Ahmedabad: Bird-hit fears loom over city airport - Tv9 Gujarati

Ahmedabad: With the onset of monsoon, birds have been returning to the city airport in large numbers, increasing the risk of bird-hits. In second half of June, Airports Authority of India (AAI) announced that in association with Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation, it will launch an awareness campaigns. But little seems to have moved on the ground. Birds continue to flock to the airport and have been seen close to the runway. Water-logging and garbage piles attract birds to the areas around the airport, posing a severe threat to flights but no major activity has taken place on the ground.
