Jeffrey Lewis 12 Crass Songs Live NYC pt. 1

The Resurrection of Crass, 70's British anarcho-punk band, has been accomplished by Rough Trade NYC anti-folk artist Jeffrey Lewis. Kicking off a grand tour of Europe at the Sidewalk Cafe in NYC he performers with Helen Schreiner, Jack Lewis, and Dave Beauchamp as Jeffrey Lewis and the Jitters. Hoping to make Crass's excellent highly politcal words more intelligible, he reworks them in his own more lyrical style, shall we call it "softcore punk?" The first two songs are Do They Owe Us a Living? and Systematic Death.
"Do They Owe Us A Living? (Well?...Do They?)"
One - Two - Three - Four
Fuck the politically minded, here's something I want to say,
About the state of nation, the way it treats us today.
At school they give you shit, drop you in the pit,
You try and try and try to get out, but you can't because they've fucked you about.
Then you're a prime example of how they must not be,
This is just a sample of what they've done to you and me.

Do they owe us a living?
Of course they do, of course they do.
Owe us a living?
Of course they do, of course they do.
Owe us a living?
OF COURSE THEY FUCKING DO.
