Pakistan Relief Foundation arranged Inflatable Rescue Boats (IRBs) which will be used for flash flood disaster areas of the city. Its main features that make it different from other rescue boats, is that these can be inflated from the occupied buildings and streets. These Rescue boats are capable of feeding through narrow stairways or doorways, enabling the victims to escape in safety without entering the cold flood waters.
These can be inflated using a small compressed air canister. The main goal would be that a whole community that lives in a high flood risk zone would have rescue boats within their home, for those
just in case situations so the emergency services could then pull them to further safety if needs be.(24.07.2015)
