Thousands evacuated as typhoon Nangka makes landfall in Japan

As Typhoon Nangka makes landfall in southern Japan, authorities have urged 350,000 people to evacuate their homes.
Two deaths have been reported in local media and at least 54 others have been injured.

Though downgraded to a Tropical storm on Friday, the country’s meteorological agency warned of high waves, gales and thunderstorms as the storm headed north on the main island of Honshu.
Winds of up to 80 kph (51 mph), were registered with gusts of up to 120 kph (75 mph) an hour.
