Neutral Ground Brass Band is a group which sees itself as a meeting-point for musicians with different nationalities and musical backgrounds who come together in 2013 to create upbeat infectious New Orleans brass band music. With its authentic vibe and boundless energy the Neutral Ground Brass Band was soon invited to play at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw and the Melkweg.
Today they are Holland’s hardest-hitting Second Line act, giving energetic stage and street performances! Taking a keen interest in the local culture, NGBB can often be seen supporting local events in the streets and on the stage, in schools and kindergartens (e.g. the People’s Climate march, Second Line parties, carnival, and artist atelier initiatives).
The summer of 2014 marked their first European tour, in which they travelled seven countries, including Slovenia, Germany and Italy transmitting their infectious dance music. Some highlights throughout their time include: Jazz- & Blues-Festival Wendelstein (2014 and 2015), Ingolstädter Jazztage (2013 and 2014), Ferrara Buskers Festivals 2014 (where they were voted by the public as the 3rd most popular Band amongst 200 bands), Blue Tone Festival Straubing (2014), Dixiefestival Weißenfels 2014, Taktraum Festival 2014, where they shared the staged with the likings of Gregory Porter, Maceo Parker, Tower of Power, Terence Blanchard, Max Mutzke and Randy Crawford!
NGBB is working on their first album which is expected to be released before the summer of 2015!
