Teen Finds Mathematical Error In Boston Museum's Long-Standing Exhibit

Joseph Rosenfeld, a 15-year-old high school student from Virginia, alerted the Boston Museum of Science to an error in its ‘Mathematica’ display.

Since its 1981 installation, the ‘Mathematica’ exhibit has been popular at Boston’s Museum of Science. 

However, no one apparently ever noticed that the Golden Ratio formula in the exhibit had an error. 

That changed recently when Joseph Rosenfeld, a 15-year-old high school student from Virginia, reported the display had some minus signs where plus signs should be.
