However, those years that preceded recognize valuable experience as a junior, the eldest of 17 children of Dona Celina Rodriguez and Don Andrés Montañez as bolero singer in the group of Luis Morales and voice as a Second Trio Los Duendes. Is this the Junior that under the baton of the legendary Rafael Ithier form with Pellín Rodriguez one of the most memorable duos in the history of this group.
They were marked 15 years of success. The Child Trastalleres recorded 37 LP's with El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico. There he created and sealed the baggage that always accompany. "The Barber Crazy," "Julia" "Guaguanco of Gran Combo", "A Summer in New York", "Vagabond", "Milonga Sentimental", "Sheets White", "La Soledad". Today the classic 'My Way, "a song recorded with Paquito Guzman and Rodriguez originally with Pellín.
It was in 1977 that Andy decides lucky this time without the support of the group that designed it internationally. Thus he confronted the riskiest test of his career: his country was without the Gran Combo, to accept the irresistible offer to make him the popular Venezuelan orchestra "La Dimension Latina" to replace Oscar D'Leon.
