Syria: Suicide Bomber Damages Main Power Station

The Islamic State is on the offense in northern Syria. Only days ago ISIS forces took northern Aleppo and attempted to occupy northeastern Syria. The Syrian Army and the National Defense Forces, however, have repelled major attacks and the area is back under Syrian control, although an IS suicide bomber blew up a car near an electric poser station, which did damage to the station, causing power outages. After fierce fighting, IS extremists confirmed the deaths of several of their leaders, but Turkey’s role in supporting the Islamic State worries many Syrians, and there is still no international solution to the problem.
