Cultura Latina - Latin Swing and Jazz Fusion

This week’s program features the sounds of Monsieur Perine, a Colombian band that fuses Latin swing with different rhythms such as pop, jazz and salsa. One of their main influences is the gypsy jazz of Django Reinhardt, but they also love Caribbean and Latin American music. Then it’s on to Mexico City for a taste of Latin Jazz played by the group ‘Sociedad Acustica de Capital Variable,’ which has been playing since 1995.
