At least 12 children injured as school roof collapses

MULTAN: At least 12 children were injured when a roof of a school came crashing down at Multan’s Muzaffargarh Road on Saturday, ARY News reports.
According to details, the incident took place when a class was underway.
Rescue teams and law enforcement agencies rushed to the scene after receiving the news of the incident. The children were rushed to Nishtar Hospital for treatment whereas several others are still trapped under the rubble.
The principal of the educational facility Akbar Nadeem has been taken into custody.
Parents of the children, who also arrived at the school, surrounded the vehicle and demanded the law enforcers to hand over the school principal to them.
It is being said that academic activities were underway in the building despite the incomplete construction.
Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has taken notice and sought report of the incident.
