Muckraking Honduran Journalist Receives Death Threats

Several weeks ago Honduran journalist David Romero revealed that funds from the country's social security and health care system were being siphoned off to finance the ruling National Party. Of the US$250 million in stolen funds, at least US$100 million used in President Juan Orlando Hernandez's election campaign. The revelations led to a major corruption scandal for the government. Since then Romero has been subject to death threats. Human rights advocates have rallied to the journalist's defense. Gerardo Torres reports from Tegucigalpa. teleSUR
