Cleanup Crews Hit Refugio Beach to Tackle Massive 9 Mile Oil Spill

Local Southern California volunteers trudged through the water carrying loads of crude oil soaked seaweed as they continued cleanup operations of a massive oil spill that contaminated Refugio Beach on the California coast near Santa Barbara. California Governor Jerry Brown declared a state of emergency after around 105,000 gallons of crude oil leaked from a ruptured pipeline in Goleta and sludged into the ocean.
