Man's junk cut off after Viagra overdose causes days long erection, gangrene

Erection problems: An unnamed 66-year-old man from Gigante, Colombia had to amputate his member after he reportedly overdosed on the erectile dysfunction medication Viagra, according to officials.

The man, apparently a former member of the Gigante municipal council, told a local newspaper Colombia Reports that he had intentionally overdosed on Viagra because he wanted to impress his new girlfriend. What happened was an erection that lasted several days before the man decided to seek medical help. No word as to why the man didn't think to seek help much sooner, say, after experiencing an erection for a few hours.

Gigante doctors referred the man to a medical facility in Neiva, where experts said his junk had become inflamed, fractured and even showed signs of gangrene. In order to prevent the inflammation and gangrene from spreading further, they had to amputate the appendage.

According to local newspaper La Nacion, a doctor said the man also showed bruising on his testicles and ding-a-ling.

What the man suffered from is called priapism, where some Viagra users unfortunately suffer from a prolonged erection that has nothing to do with sexual desire. Usually such prolonged erections are quite painful.
