A couple and their 2-year-old daughter were killed in a car-lorry collision on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Highway in Malaysia.

According to reports, the couple, Kpl Jiman Raup, 32 and Kpl Nik Zaieyahaliza Ya, 29, and their daughter Nurul Damia were travelling in a Perodua Alza towards Kuala Lumpur. The tanker lorry was traveling in the opposite direction.

The accident happened at km49 of the highway near Bukit Tinggi, at around 6:50 am. The car skidded and rammed through the center divider and then collided head on with the truck.

All the passengers died on the spot from severe multiple injuries, while the lorry driver Abd Rahman was unhurt.

According to the Star, the bodies were brought to the Bentong Hospital for post-mortem. The results showed that Kpl Nik Zaieyahaliza was two months pregnant.

"They were very excited to be expecting another child. The last I saw them was at a relative's house to break fast during the fasting month this year," Kpl Nik Zaieyahaliza's cousin was quoted as saying.

The couple had gone back to Kpl Nik Zaieyahaliza's hometown in Jerteh, Terengganu to spend some time with her family before going back to Kuala Lumpur.
