Many nations have enacted laws banning cell phone use while driving, so if a phone chat is distracting, imagine how distracting less-than-fully-clothed ladies are—especially if you're watching them while driving a 40 ton truck!
UK couple Lewis Pagett and Laura Thomas, both 20 and engaged, were on their way home to Stafford when their car broke down last summer.
As they awaited help, truck driver Ian Glover was speeding down the A5 motorway at 50 miles an hour with his eyes glued to 'adult themed' websites.
Despite the broken down car being parked in the hard shoulder and despite having at least 400 meters of clear road in front of him, Glover slammed his truck into the couple's car with such force that the sedan was thrown over the road's safety barrier.
Laura, who had hoped to become a teacher, was killed while Lewis suffered serious injuries. Cops determined that Glover had accessed adult sites more than 10 times in a less than one mile radius of the crash.
Glover will now spend the next five years in jail after a judge this week found him guilty of distracted driving, nothing that all together, Glover had used two of three phones in his truck to access 'dating sites' just before the accident.
