Teen pays for $12m home and McLaren sports car using stolen credit card fraud

Mohannad Halaweh and a friend were busted using stolen credit cards to rent a sports car worth a quarter million dollars and a $12m vacation home in Glen Ellen, California.
They paid $13,000 for the car, but may have been conned themselves as the car was later reported stolen by the owner, according to Sonoma Sheriff Michael Raasch. The teenagers were pulled over driving the 2012 McLaren on Dutton Avenue in Santa Rosa around 6.45 p.m. Wednesday.
Police discovered the fraudulent credit card had also been used to pay $27,000 in rent the for the luxury vacation home.
In March, Halaweh attempted to buy 14 iphones and two Macbook Airs with bunk cards from the Apple store in Berkeley. When police arrived, he waived his Miranda rights and admitted to using the fake cards and false ID.
Halaweh was a basketball star at Analy High School prior to his short lived career in credit card fraud.
