Shocked Denver police ran for cover when an arrested suspect, who'd been smoking meth for three days straight, pulled a gun from his butt and fired two shots at officers on May 14.

Narcotics detectives spotted Isaac Vigil smoking meth in the McDonalds parking lot at 300 South Eliot Street. Police would later learn that he'd been smoking meth for three days straight prior to the encounter.

The three narcotics detectives arrested and searched Vigil but called for backup assistance to help transport the suspect because of his aggressive behavior. Officer Greg Juarez arrived and searched Vigil a second time before transporting him in the police cruiser.

"I'm going to kill you," the meth-fueled suspect said to the officers five or six times, "You better have a vest on."

When they arrived at the precinct, Vigil refused to get out of the vehicle. "I've got something for you guys," he told police.

They saw a flash of the gun when they attempted to pull Vigil out. One shot was fired and police took cover behind the vehicle. He fired another shot from behind his back before his gun jammed. Police then shot Vigil in the stomach before he finally relented.

Not only did Vigil stash a gun up his butt but while waiting for paramedics to arrive, he revealed another secret. "I have meth up my ass!" Three bags of meth were recovered from his person at the hospital.
