Woman cuts up husband's face for peeing on bathroom floor

Shery Lynn Downs, 52, of Billings, Montana was arrested Monday after officers were called to a residence at about 7:30 p.m. Once there, police found Downs' 68-year-old husband on the front steps holding a blood-soaked towel to his face. According to the husband, Downs had cut his throat and she was in her bedroom.
Officers went inside where they found Downs acting intoxicated, but otherwise uninjured. Police also found blood on the living room floor and drops of blood leading into a bedroom.
According to Downs, she first told officers that her husband hurt himself. She explained that her husband had been causing problems all day by urinating on the floor and lying to the cable company to try to get free service.
Court records state that Downs told the officers she gave her husband a bottle of whiskey and he asked her to call 911 some time later.
However, while being treated at a hospital, Downs' husband said his wife had been angry at him all day because he had urinated on the bathroom floor. He said that while he was in the bedroom, his wife twice entered with a knife and threatened to "cut him up," court records state.
According to the husband, it was the second time she came into the room that she slashed his face with the knife.
A police officer said the man suffered a cut on his face that was several inches long and required special facial surgery to repair, court records state.
