A man intentionally ran down a 53-year-old pregnant woman with his car on Wednesday in Douglasville, Georgia.

Dewey Green was arrested for a random act of violence that claimed the life of Janice Pitts, while her daughter Iesha Davis and her 4-year-old son watched in horror.

The Pitts family was travelling southbound on Highway 5 in Douglasville Georgia. Pitts was stopped at a traffic light at Douglas Boulevard when Green started ramming into the back of her Lincoln Navigator.

When Pitts stepped out of her vehicle to assess the damage, Green rammed her again, this time pinning Pitts between the vehicles. Davis then stepped out and threw herself on the hood of Green's Chevy pickup.

"I'm banging on the window, 'Please you're crushing my mom,"Davis told WSB-TV, "He wouldn't look at me. He kept his face straight and kept his foot down on the gas."

When he finally reversed, Pitt's body fell to the ground, Green then crushed the woman's body with the passenger-side tires as he drove over the median. Janice Pitts, a two-time breast cancer survivor who recently found out she was expecting, died at the scene.

Police say Green reeked of alcohol. He was arrested on charges of murder and aggravated assault and battery and may face an additional charge of feticide.
