Game of Thrones fan spears drunk home intruder using medieval weapon in Texas
A drunk intruder picked the wrong house to break into in Wichita Falls, TX on Sept. 16.
The homeowner, Jimmy Morgan, Jr., is an avid Game of Thrones fan and an SCA combat fighter.
According to police, Thomas McGowan, 25, drunkenly crashed his car in the 700 block of Oak St some time around midnight. McGowan then broke into a nearby trailer home through the front window.
Morgan woke up to the noise and grabbed a medieval short spear. When he opened his bedroom window, he found McGowan in his hallway. He advanced with his spear, injured McGowan and trapped him near the front door.
McGowan ran out of the house and was later found on Baily Street. Police booked him in the Wichita County Jail.
McGowan was charged with arson last year in a 2012 arson case, during which police say McGowan set a house on fire to cover up a burglary.
